Join the Egyptian Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Editorial Board!

We are expanding our Associate Editor team

We are looking for Associate Editors in the fields of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation, who have expertise in adult and paediatric rheumatological and musculosketal conditions.

We encourage applications from international researchers with a background in a range of subject areas, broadly covered by the below:

  • rheumatology
  • rehabilitation
  • sports’ medicine
  • electro-diagnosis
  • musculoskeletal/neuromuscular ultrasound

The new Associate Editors will be responsible for advancing the journal’s mission, soliciting articles, maintaining the high quality of the manuscript handling process and journal promotion.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  1. Broad and extensive knowledge in the field
  2. An academic position at an accredited academic institution OR a PhD or degree with good field experience
  3. Excellent communication skills
  4. Ability to work with tight deadlines
  5. Previous editorial experience would be desirable 

Who are we looking for?

We are interested in individuals who are engaged and are willing to handle a minimum of two manuscripts per month within their field of expertise. You should have a minimum of six research papers published in reputable peer-review journals. Preference will be given to those candidates who have an international background.

Role and responsibilities

As an Associate Editor, your contribution to the journal would involve joining an international board of academic Editors who are responsible for checking the suitability of manuscripts within their field of expertise and guiding them through the peer review process.  The core responsibilities of an Associate Editor lie in three main areas: journal development, peer review and journal advocacy.

Peer review

The Associate Editor handles new manuscripts assigned to them by the Editors-in-Chief, ensuring peer review is swift, thorough and efficient, and that appropriate peer reviewers are selected. The Associate Editor ensures all manuscripts recommended for acceptance meet the standards and scope of the journal.

Journal development

Highlighting promotion-worthy content to the journal Publishing Editor and Editors-in-Chief Providing feedback and suggesting improvements for the journal. Writing occasional reviews or commentaries for the journal upon invitation. Suggesting commissioning opportunities in your topic areas.

Journal advocacy

The Associate Editor is an ambassador for the journal in their field, encouraging submissions and highlighting the ethos, scope and aims of the journal. Where called upon, the Associate Editor assists the Editors-in-Chief in preparing and executing strategies to develop the journal.

Our Associate Editors will receive training, and our in-house editorial team will also provide administrative support.
