Time to methotrexate (MTX) discontinuation according to the reason for MTX discontinuation. Duration of treatment until MTX discontinuation in patients with RA according to the reason for MTX discontinuation. Results are shown in days (median with interquartile range) according to the reasons; the time to MTX discontinuation was found to vary in accordance with the reasons (P<0.0001). Gastrointestinal disorders, mucosal skin disorders, and fever occurred relatively early after MTX initiation, and MTX was discontinued. In contrast, patients who discontinued MTX because of malignancy, old age, or renal dysfunction tended to have longer durations of MTX therapy before discontinuation
